Subsidy Award Database|Search Grant Records by Company Name
Using the subsidy grant data published by Japan's central government ministries (gBizINFO and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), you can search subsidy awards, grant records and amounts by company name. Use it to see which subsidies your business partners or competitors have received and how much, or to research the track record of a subsidy you want to apply for.
※ Enter at least 2 characters. You can omit corporate designations such as "株式会社". You can also search with no company name, using only amount/period filters (to view the grant-amount ranking).
Sources are: ① subsidy information from gBizINFO (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry); ② payee information from the Administrative Program Review (RS System) (published for 2021–2025, five years); ③ materials published by each subsidy secretariat (lists of awardees / grant decisions for the Monozukuri, IT Introduction, Sustainability, Business Restructuring, Labor-Saving Investment, New Business Advancement, Growth Acceleration, Large-Scale Growth Investment and Business Succession subsidies); ④ the MAFF Business Continuity subsidy for farmers (2020, rounds 1-2; corporate awardees restored from web archives of the closed secretariat site); and ⑤ lists of awarded companies from industrial-promotion bodies of prefectures and major cities nationwide (the Tokyo SME Support Center and public corporations, foundations and prefectural governments in more than 40 prefectures and designated cities). Only corporations are covered (individuals and sole proprietors are not included). For some subsidies the amount is not disclosed. The same grant may appear in multiple sources. The information reflects the state at the time of publication and is not guaranteed to be current or complete.
Ways you can use this
| Check going rates before applying | See how much peers in your industry received for the subsidy you are targeting, as a reference for the scale of your business plan |
| Research partners and competitors | Searching by company name shows the type, amount and timing of the subsidies that company received |
| Check your own listing | Search your own company name to check the grant records published for your company |
To find which subsidies you can apply for, see the Subsidy & Grant Guide; for those closing soon, see This Month's Subsidy Deadlines. As explained in the guide, the tax treatment of subsidies you receive is, for corporations, in principle taxable profit (with a special provision for reduction entry / compressed booking).
FAQ
Where does this data come from?
It is subsidy information published on "gBizINFO," the corporate-information site operated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (data published by each ministry, aggregated by corporate number). It is used with the source clearly indicated, in accordance with the Government Standard Terms of Use.
Are awards for sole proprietors included?
No. This is because gBizINFO covers only corporations that have a corporate number. For award results of sole proprietors, please check the published materials (PDFs, etc.) of each subsidy secretariat.
Are the Monozukuri, IT Introduction and Sustainability subsidies included?
Yes. They are compiled from the lists of awardees / businesses with grant decisions published by each secretariat (Monozukuri subsidy: all application rounds; IT Introduction subsidy: all years from 2017 (2017-2019 restored from web archives); Sustainability subsidy: all general-type rounds (chamber-of-commerce districts from round 1, shokokai districts from round 8), the low-infection-risk track, and the COVID special track (restored from web archives of the closed secretariat sites; some rounds partial); Business Succession subsidy: management-innovation grant decisions; Business Restructuring subsidy: awardees of all rounds 1–13; Labor-Saving Investment subsidy: both catalog and general types; New Business Advancement subsidy: rounds 1–3; Growth Acceleration subsidy: 1st round; Large-Scale Growth Investment subsidy: grant decisions of rounds 1-2, with amounts taken from each company profile — corporations only in all cases). Because their grant amounts are not published, amounts are shown as "not disclosed." Grant decisions for the Business Restructuring subsidy, employment-related grants, agriculture-related grants and the like are included with amounts.
Why do some cases show no amount?
Because some subsidies do not publish the grant-decision amount. Even so, the fact of the award/grant and the subsidy name can be confirmed. If you use the amount filter, cases with undisclosed amounts are excluded from the results.
My search returns no hits.
Try at least 2 characters, using a name without the corporate designation (such as "株式会社"). If it still cannot be found, that corporation's information may not be included in the published data.
