Editorial Policy & Information Accuracy Policy
"Minna no Zeikin" (Everyone's Taxes) is an information site whose purpose is to deliver information on taxes, tax saving and various public programs clearly and accurately, even to individuals. Taxes are a field that directly affects money and daily life (YMYL), and incorrect information can harm readers. We produce and update our articles in line with the following principles.
Five editorial principles
Facts such as tax amounts, requirements and deadlines are checked against primary information from public bodies (.go.jp) — the National Tax Agency, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and local governments — and the sources are clearly stated at the end of each article.
Rather than a rehash of generic points, we prioritize information you can act on, such as concrete calculation examples, comparisons, an overview of common pitfalls, and the latest revisions.
We do not steer readers toward particular products or businesses, and we add fair reference links. We do not engage in discrimination against nationalities or individuals, or in inflammatory expression.
The rules are revised every year. We check tax reforms and newly published materials, and review and update as needed any articles whose content has become outdated. Each article shows its publication date (and its last-updated date once revised).
We break down technical terms and, where necessary, link to the glossary. We use tables, calculation examples and FAQs to build a structure that even first-time readers can follow.
Our neutrality pledge: a firewall between revenue and editorial
To call ourselves "more neutral than any other media outlet," we disclose our entire revenue structure. This site earns money from exactly three sources: (1) advertising via Google AdSense (served automatically, unrelated to article content); (2) affiliate banner ads via A8.net (displayed on column pages, clearly labeled as PR); and (3) support from readers (donation-style, with no rewards). We never write articles in exchange for referral fees, placement fees or writing fees from the providers of the programs, financial products, insurance products, businesses or tax accountants covered in our articles. Ad slots are independent of what an article covers, so by construction, "compensation" can never be the reason we recommend something.
- We always cover "when you should not do this": Every program and technique suits some people and not others. We do not publish benefits-only articles (stating the drawbacks, who it does not suit, and the risks is mandatory).
- We do not create "recommended products": We do not publish rankings that steer readers toward specific brokerages, insurance products or services. When a comparison is needed, we make it using figures from official sources only.
- Advertising does not influence editorial: The presence or content of advertising never changes an article's conclusions. PR and ads are displayed so that anyone can recognize them as such.
- "Increase your take-home pay" — the subject is the reader: Our goal is for readers' actual balance of taxes, social insurance premiums and benefits to improve. That is why every article includes a "what to do today" section, and our action list guides you all the way to taking action.
Our production and review process
- Planning: We decide the theme starting from readers' questions and search needs.
- Research: We verify facts, figures and deadlines against the latest primary information from public bodies.
- Writing: We put it together from a neutral standpoint, weaving in concrete examples, calculations and comparisons.
- Review: We re-check figures, tax rates, requirements and link destinations, and clearly state the sources.
- Publication and updating: We display the publication and last-updated dates, and revise when the rules change.

- The results of our calculators and simulators (such as the tax calculators and simulators) are estimates based on the rates in official materials. For exact amounts, please check the National Tax Agency's official tools, your tax office or a professional.
- Our data content (such as the subsidy adoption database and tax revenue data) is built from data published by public bodies, with sources clearly stated.
